It’s Harvest Time! Get To Know How Lovelace & Associates Services, Is Helping Our Community Grow.

On July 14th Lovelace & Associates teamed up with the Amistad Law Project and its premiere of ‘No Way Home’, a documentary about a mother’s struggle to reunite her family and end mandatory Life Without Parole in Pennsylvania.

No Way Home traces the story of Lorraine Haw, known as Mrs. Dee Dee, as she grapples with the trauma of living on both sides of the epidemic of gun violence in Philadelphia.

Earlier in life, Mrs. Dee Dee’s younger brother was shot to death in his apartment complex after an argument over a gold necklace turned fatal. Years later, still reeling from the tragic death of her brother, she was devastated to see her son sentenced to mandatory life without parole in prison.

A leader in the movement to end mass incarceration in Pennsylvania, Mrs. Dee Dee’s story reflects the experiences of thousands of people in Pennsylvania who simultaneously sit on both sides of the gun violence epidemic: having lost loved ones to gun violence and also having lost loved ones to the carceral system.

Founder, Saleema Lovelace has an intimate connection with unfair sentencing and was honored to assist in getting this important story out into the world through this event.

Aug 5th was the successful ‘Give Me My Roses’ Event at The Kings Cafe in Philadelphia. Founded by Cynthaya Johnson, a New Jersey native and Actress/Executive Producer.

Cynthaya believes in "...giving you your roses while you're here!"

“We openly express our gratitude through acts of kindness as we recognize individuals from all walks of life who are elevating humanity in our communities.”

There’s no need to wait until someone dies to show them that their service matters. Lovelace & Associates had a blast recognizing 5 community leaders this summer and look forward to spreading compassion in every event we are a part of.

Budgeting can be hard for the summer and while most parents can’t wait for their children to go back to school the price of supplies can be a shock to many families. This August Lovelace & Associates helped sponsor three back to school giveaways throughout Philadelphia.

Aug 18th: Back to School Trunk Party at the 39th Police District, Philadelphia, PA

Aug 22nd: Sponsored backpacks for the back-to-school event - CJ

Aug 25th: Self Prep Academy - Donated school supplies for community giveaway.

Congratulations, Saleema Lovelace.

We are proud to announce that Saleema has been nominated and selected to be honored at the 2023 Uptown Standard Newspaper Uppity Awards (Change Maker Award), which will take place on November 11, 2023, at Jacobs Northwest.
